BASIC is committed to full transparency and compliance. Below are its IRS Form 990 and California Form 199 filings, which set out annual financial activity and affirm its nonprofit status.

IRS Form 990 Series

BASIC files a combined package each year: IRS Form 990 together with California Form 199. Both are in the single PDF for each year below.

Every Form 990 BASIC has filed is a public document. To request one of these years directly, email contactus@borregobasic99.wpenginepowered.com; BASIC will send a copy. They are also on file with the IRS.

BASIC’s audited-looking financial detail for those years is a separate matter — the internal management reports covering FY2018 onward are posted on the Financial Information page.

BASIC’s FAFSA/CADAA program helps Borrego Springs high school seniors navigate financial aid and prepare for college — one example of how the resources set out in these filings become real-world impact.

Federal Tax-Exempt Documentation

BASIC is a 501(c)(3) public charity, EIN 33-0631683. A copy of its original IRS determination letter is not currently posted; its exempt status can be confirmed directly with the IRS, and BASIC will supply the letter on request. BASIC’s annual Form RRF-1 filings with the California Attorney General’s Registry of Charities and Fundraisers are not currently posted here. They are public records held by the Registry and can be looked up there, and BASIC will provide copies on request.

California Corporate Records

BASIC is a California nonprofit corporation, California corporation number 1843734, incorporated in 1999. Its standing with the Franchise Tax Board is confirmed by the entity status letter below, and its corporate filing status can be looked up directly through the Secretary of State’s official business search, a public source independent of this site.
