A nivel nacional, el promedio es de una suscripci\u00f3n por cada siete ni\u00f1os elegibles. BASIC se destaca con una proporci\u00f3n de una suscripci\u00f3n por cada dos, lo que demuestra el compromiso y la dedicaci\u00f3n de nuestra comunidad a la alfabetizaci\u00f3n temprana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Desde julio de 2023, el estado de California cubre la mitad de nuestras facturas mensuales gracias al Proyecto de Ley 1183 de la Asamblea, aprobado en 2022 con un apoyo abrumador. Dicha legislaci\u00f3n estableci\u00f3 el Programa Estatal de Bibliotecas de la Imaginaci\u00f3n, comprometiendo fondos de contrapartida para apoyar a los 2,3 millones de ni\u00f1os de California. Con este respaldo, BASIC ha podido ampliar significativamente su impacto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Para garantizar un acceso equitativo, el programa comenz\u00f3 a ofrecer libros biling\u00fces en ingl\u00e9s y espa\u00f1ol como opci\u00f3n para las familias el 10 de junio de 2024. Ahora, los padres pueden elegir entre libros en ingl\u00e9s o biling\u00fces para sus hijos, y la mayor\u00eda prefiere los biling\u00fces (dos a uno). Esta es una forma m\u00e1s de servir a todas las familias de Borrego Springs, especialmente a nuestra comunidad hispanohablante, mediante la creaci\u00f3n de bibliotecas en los hogares y el fomento del amor por la lectura.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lo que costaron diez a\u00f1os y lo que se compr\u00f3.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Desde su inicio en 2015, BASIC ha apoyado a 239 ni\u00f1os y entregado m\u00e1s de 5243 libros, suficientes para cubrir una longitud de m\u00e1s de 133 metros si se colocaran uno tras otro, superando la longitud de la emblem\u00e1tica escultura de la serpiente de Borrego en Galleta Meadows. Gracias al arduo trabajo, la perseverancia y el apoyo de la comunidad, BASIC ha invertido m\u00e1s de 11\u00a0000 T en la Biblioteca de la Imaginaci\u00f3n aqu\u00ed mismo en Borrego Springs. La suscripci\u00f3n anual de cada ni\u00f1o cuesta aproximadamente 32,10 T, lo que representa alrededor de 340 a\u00f1os de apoyo para nuestros peque\u00f1os de Borrego.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group bb-st-wrap is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-large bb-st-float-l\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/borregobasic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/reading-with-leyssa.jpg\" alt=\"Leyssa Garcia reading a picture book aloud with Dylan at her side\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Leyssa y Dylan Garc\u00eda.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Detr\u00e1s de estas cifras se esconden historias inspiradoras como la del peque\u00f1o Dylan. Su madre, Leyssa, comparti\u00f3 c\u00f3mo los libros proporcionados por el programa despertaron su imaginaci\u00f3n y alimentaron su profundo amor por la lectura, especialmente los libros sobre dinosaurios y su personaje favorito, Godzilla. Hoy, Dylan contin\u00faa su camino hacia la alfabetizaci\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s del Proyecto de Alfabetizaci\u00f3n Familiar Latina de BASIC, donde todos los ni\u00f1os de 0 a 5 a\u00f1os tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1n inscritos en la Biblioteca de la Imaginaci\u00f3n, creando bibliotecas en los hogares y fomentando la alfabetizaci\u00f3n temprana en Borrego.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La historia de Dylan es solo una de muchas. Los libros, cuidadosamente seleccionados para adaptarse a la edad y etapa de desarrollo de cada ni\u00f1o, comienzan con el cl\u00e1sico. <em>La peque\u00f1a locomotora que s\u00ed pudo<\/em>. Ese libro tiene un profundo significado para Dolly Parton, cuyo propio viaje fuera del este de Tennessee estuvo guiado por su mantra: &quot;Creo que puedo&quot;. A medida que los ni\u00f1os se acercan al siguiente cap\u00edtulo de sus vidas y se grad\u00faan a los cinco a\u00f1os, reciben como su \u00faltimo libro <em>As\u00ed que ahora vas a ir al jard\u00edn de infancia.<\/em>. Cada a\u00f1o se actualiza aproximadamente una cuarta parte de los libros del programa, de modo que el contenido se mantiene vigente a medida que los ni\u00f1os crecen.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote bb-st-pull\"><blockquote><p>\u00bfPuedes sentir el efecto domin\u00f3? Un solo libro que crea un lector de por vida, un aprendiz curioso y, en definitiva, un futuro m\u00e1s brillante.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sigamos adelante con esta misi\u00f3n con dedicaci\u00f3n inquebrantable, apoyando y fomentando a la pr\u00f3xima generaci\u00f3n de lectores y so\u00f1adores.
